They are finally up! And I couldn't be more excited! The M.A.P.S. project through the Gallery at CASA in Lethbridge has finally all been installed and my lovely piece "The Lost Self" is somewhere among it all! If you're curious of what M.A.P.S. stands for it is Making Art in Peculiar Spaces. There are 9 artists involved in the project, including myself. You may be asking yourself where are these wonderful art pieces located in Lethbridge and the answer is all over! The opening reception for the whole project as well as a few other things at the Gallery is on Saturday June 4th. If you can't make it down don't worry as they will be installed until the 25th of June.
Stop by the Gallery at CASA and grab a walking map to make sure you hit them all up!

These boxes will be placed around downtown Lethbridge during the festival that is taking place in June. I'll be posting details as they come, and maybe some progress shots too. If I'm not too busy creating!
I've been working away at a few embroideries lately. They are definitely time consuming, esspecially the cross stitch. What ever possessed me to cross stitch on uncounted fabric is beyond me. But I'm doing it and its going well. All this work and I can feel my eyes go buggy. You know, when you cant focus on anything any more and they just hurt. Ya thats what I've got going on! To remedy that I went and bought some reading glasses. Now I can really fit into the Ol' Lady Club!
I have started to attack the play ground with some lovely yarn bomb creations. I hope to do many more in the coming weeks and months, and hopefully get the chance to make them bigger and more complicated.
I have been exploring the possibility of doing a cross stich pattern in the chain link fence that surrounds the school. Hopefully I can find the right colours of yarn at the right price to help me out! One of my first attempts at embroidery. Still trying to decide if I need to light it from behind. It doesn't photograph well, at least not in the lighting I was able to use. I'll try again later on and see what happens.
I got inspired the other night by a photo that I saw on Tumblr. Teeny Tiny knitting ornaments. I got so excited I ran out to the store and got my own materials to try it out, and you know what? They are probably the cutest things you ever did see!
